A new capital raising tool allowing greater access for those wanting to participate in IPOs, placements and other share issues, will go live on Oct 8, 2013.
The ASX BookBuild Facility, which also allows management and boards to see how the bidding is going and get a broader view on whether the pricing of new issues is appropriate, is a world first – the first time the technology has been used by a stock exchange.
The on-line facility enables companies to access all-of-market demand for issues of new shares and allows all legally eligible shareholders to participate in capital raisings.
Software developer On-Market Bookbuilds was quick to point out to Mining Business Media that the ASX is not “doing bookbuilds,” but providing a bookbuild facility.
