Anglo American remains on track for first longwall production of premium quality hard coking coal in early 2022 at its Aquila mine, part of its 70%-owned Capcoal JV with Mitsui & Co (30%) in the Bowen Basin of central Qld, Australia.

Global multi commodity miner Anglo American has seen most of its commodities production fall in the wake of Covid-19 lockdowns and accidents cutting coal production in the June 2020 qtr (Q2 20).

Five workers have been hospitalised with serious burns after an explosion at Anglo American’s Grosvenor coal mine at Moranbah in the Bowen Basin of central Queensland, Australia.

Global miner Anglo-American will scale down operations at its Los Bronces copper mine in Chile to the minimum necessary to ensure “operational continuity” amid the spread of the coronavirus in the nation that is the world´s top producer, Reuters reports.
The expects minimal impact on output as it planned to continue processing stockpiled copper.
