EASTERN PLATINUM: PGM WIDENS TAILINGS PROJECT REVENUE SOURCES

 

Johannesburg, Jan 6

South African producer Eastern Platinum is ramping up production from the PGM Circuit D at its Crocodile River Mine retreatment plant after delivering its first shipment of pressed filter cake concentrate under its offtake agreement with Impala Platinum.
Since beginning operations in the Sept 2020 qtr under relaxed lockdown restrictions, the small-scale circuit has generated about 134 tons of concentrate.
President-CEO Diana Hu says the small-scale circuit allows Eastplats to diversify its revenue sources alongside chrome concentrate recovery at its CRM tailings retreatment.
It now plans further upgrades of the Circuit D and refurbishment of the main PGM facility to further expand processing capacity and potential revenue sources.
