Klondex Mines’ transition from developer to gold-silver producer continues to gather pace, with latest production upgrading FY2014 guidance
Klondex Mines is going to the market again for another $C14M-$16M for its recently acquired $US83M Midas Gold-Silver Mine in N Nevada, US, as part of its long-term processing solution for its flagship operating Fire Creek Gold-Silver Project 165km away.
The company has entered a 7M share bought deal with a group of underwriters at $2ps for $14M, with the option for an additional 1.05M shares, taking the total to $16.1M. The offering is expected to close by July 30.
There has been a fatality at Klondex Mines’ Midas gold-silver mine and mill in N Nevada, US.
The company says the man was found unconscious and unresponsive in a working underground heading, and pronounced dead by hospital staff. The cause his death has yet to be determined.
Klondex completed the $US83M acquisition of Newmont Mining’s Midas operation earlier this year as part of its long-term processing solution for its flagship Fire Creek Gold-Silver Project about 165km away.
Klondex Mines’ $US83M acquisition of Newmont Mining’s Midas mine/milling facility in north-central Nevada, USA, is half-way home with the closure of a $C42.6M private placement.
The funds from the sale of 29.4M subscription receipts via a syndicate led by GMP Securities, will be held in escrow until the Midas acquisition is completed, expected in early Feb this year.
Klondex Mines has put together a $US/C95M financing package for its proposed $US83M acquisition of Newmont Mining’s Midas mine/milling facility in north-central Nevada, USA.
The financing is expected to include a $US35M gold financing package from Franco-Nevada, a private placement for $C35M and another of secured notes for $C25M to fund the acquisition Klondex sees as the long-term processing solution for its flagship Fire Creek Gold-Silver Project, about 165km away.
Klondex Mines is predicting a transformational outcome for the company after reaching agreement with Newmont Mining to purchase the Midas mine and ore milling facility in north-central Nevada, USA.
The company will pay $US83M for the underground mine and mill complex as the long-term processing solution for its flagship Fire Creek gold project, about 165km away.
President-CEO Paul Huet and others in Klondex’s core management team members have previously worked at Midas, which has also toll-treated Fire Creek high grade ore.
Klondex Mines will gain funds for further development of its Fire Creek gold and silver project in north-central Nevada, USA after signing a processing agreement with Newmont Mining.
The deal will see Klondex ship 9,000 tons of higher grade mineralised material in 2013 – with the first 1,000t shipment in August – and continue as needed through 2014.
Vancouver-based Klondex Mines says it will save debt service costs of over $US780,000 a month for the next 14 months after raising $C7M via a placement of unsecured notes to help repay its debt facility with Waterton Global Value.
The Nevada, US gold explorer says the 9% senior unsecured notes, due January 2015, were issued to investors at 98% original issue discount.
The proceeds plus available cash allowed Klondex to repay $US10.9m under the Waterton facility.
