PRIMERO GROUP: ENGINEER WINS FMG, RIO TINTO CONTRACTS

 

Perth, Feb 4

Multi-disciplinary engineer Primero Group has won the EPC contract for Fortescue Metals Group’s Christmas Creek wet high intensity magnetic separation project in the West Australian Pilbara. The contract is one of two major new project wins worth about $A100M for Primero.
After working on early contractor involvement last year, Primero will start immediately on complete engineering design, procurement and construction of a “wet” iron ore beneficiation plant to process and upgrade fines material from its Christmas Creek 2 ore processing facility.
The second contract covers construction of Rio Tinto Iron Ore’s Mesa K non-process infrastructure including ammonium nitrate and emulsion mixing and storage facilities, administration and access facilities and electrical design.
