Australian-based explorer Spectrum Rare Earths is holding more talks with US vendor LeoGroup over the impact of wildfires on the Washington gold project in N California, over which it holds a 3-month option to evaluate and acquire.
Spectrum says the devastating Carr fire has damaged surface infrastructure at the mine, 15 miles NW of Redding. All personnel at the mine are safe.
LeoGroup agreed on July 30 to temporarily extend the 90-day exclusive option period because of restricted access due to the fire emergency.
The companies are now discussing a reasonable basis for moving forward.
