Stonewall is closer to committing to a PFS for its fully permitted Rietfontein high-grade hard-rock project in South Africa's historic Sabie-Pilgrim's Rest goldfield after a scoping study concluded it would be a financially robust project with operating costs in the lowest quartile.
Rietfontein, with a JORC indicated and inferred resource of 905,000oz (2.55Mt @ 11g/t) is the first of three areas of potential mine development. MD Rob Thomson says Stonewall is focused on bringing Rietfontein into production in 2018 to underpin its strategy to produce over 100,000oz pa in the medium term.
