The global deficit in nickel supply has widened in the first quarter of 2022, the most recent metal balances report by the World Bureau of Metal Statistics shows. Apparent demand for nickel in the three months exceeded production by 46,100t, compared with a calculated deficit of 146,900t for the whole of 2021.
